testing kids hearing

  • Why hearing is an important part of your child's development?

Hearing speech clearly is important for children learning to speak, as children learn to talk by hearing words and listening to the sounds which surround them. Hearing levels which are adequate for speech and language development are vital for ensuring children reach their developmental milestones in this area.

Causes of hearing loss in children can range from mild hearing loss (where a child may hear most but not all the sounds that surround them) to significant hearing loss where a child may be completely unable to hear.

If you have concerns about your child's hearing it is recommended you have their hearing tested.

What type of hearing test does my child need?

The Hearing Clinic you choose matters.

Earbus Foundation is dedicated to ensuring that hearing services are available to all children in Western Australia – not only those who can afford them. Children in regional and remote areas often have no access to services because of their geographical location or because of their social situation. We believe that every child should be able to hear so that they can realise their full potential. By supporting our Perth-based clinic, you help to support service provision to children across Western Australia.

Caring

Our audiologists specialise in testing children of all ages, many of whom have other difficulties that can make traditional testing stressful for families. Our team ensure that you are provided with a service specific to the needs of your child and that you are treated as an individual, not a number, in our clinics. We routinely test children from birth onwards and the focus of our assessments is ensuring your child has a positive outcome. We test children all day, every day, making our clinics unique in Western Australia.
