Your Baby's Hearing Screening

Early detection of a hearing loss is important. Early treatment and support for families gives children have a good chance of learning to talk and communicate as well as children who hear normally.

What Does a Refer Result Mean?

Your baby has returned a refer result after the 1st screening, there may be several reasons as to why.

Your Baby Has Been Referred for a Diagnostic Hearing Test

What to expect if your baby needs a diagnostic hearing test? Why is it important to have the testing done now? Can’t we wait? Does it cost anything to have the Testing?

Support for you and your child who is Deaf or hard of hearing

Our friends at Wanslea will be delivering four parent groups in 2023 to support parents and carers of Deaf or hard of hearing children under 7 years of age.

The group aims to provide:

  • Unbiased best practice information on early intervention supports for Deaf and hard of hearing children

  • Information on available community and mainstream supports for Deaf and hard of hearing children and their families

  • Support to parents to better understand their child’s NDIS plan and how to get the most out of it

Auslan interpreters are also provided along with morning tea, and children’s activities.

Click the Register button to browse the most suitable session date and location and register your attendance.
